And, my eyes are still swelling =(


This morning, went to watch PROTEGE, which was finally showed in my city =)


It is suppose to be something very excited..yeah...I got very excited on the way driving there...
VERY EXCITED!!
And, I really enjoy watching the movie, but, the ending was such a tragic!! =(

Well...let me give an objective review before, I get into my own emotion again...


This movie features Andy Lau, Louis Koo, Daniel Wu, Anita Yuen, and Zhang JingChu.
Well...I'll talk about Zhang JingChu first, overall, I'll give her good marks for this show. I haven't watch her movies before (or, did she has any, I'm not too sure), but, this movie, she really done a very great job!! From the way she suffered from drug addiction to where she decided to give up herself, she had done a good job.
Then, let's talk about Anita. I really don't expect that Anita will appear so little in this movie. Bet, she's pregnant during the shooting, but, really very little. I never expect to be so little. However, even her part is little, well...erm...nothing I can say much about her since it's so little, but, she did a good job too!! A different Anita, I would say...hehe... =P
For Louis Koo, hmm..
said-to-be another lead male, but, also appearing very little. But, he is successed!! Look to be a bit too musculine, but, overall, he also had done a good job for his role.Tell you guys..
when he appears, tell you, I was like O-M-G!!
From the "mommy" in Rob-B-Hood, he turns himself to be a drug addictor, and he hunt for his wife...O-M-G!!
I really want to give him a whack man!!
Being such a man that is so cruel and bad, and he had made me feel so hate "him", he is success!! =)
Daniel Wu...
He appears the most, and is expected, as the movie's name is "Protege", and so he is the protege, so, what do you expect??
Of course, he has to show up the most!!
From the very first scene in the movie, until the very last scene of the movie...he never "stop" to appear...haha...
He is doing not bad either =) (even , I'm only OK with this guy. =|)
OK...come to the point, Andy Lau...
He is the dealer!!

Before going to this movie, I know Andy had attended interviews and premieres, and he is babbling away the role he had played...
Well...this is his style...he just can't keep his mouth shut...haha...
So, I was trying very hard to avoid everything...so, I saved up all the news about Protege, and so I plan to read it tonight...hehe...right after blogging this =P
Frankly, Andy didn't appear much either...at least, not as much as Daniel..
In my experience watching almost all his movies, recently, he had really been improved A LOT!!
Previously, he is already good, and now, he is really EXCELLENT!! He had played his role so real and so emotional!!
And, he speaks Thai!! *thumb-up*
Another thing that I was laughing all the way...He LOVES candies so much!!
O-M-G!!
A diabetes patient loves candies so much that he eats like he's eating snacks o_O
Andy Lau, himself dislikes sweet things...but, he chews the draggies and he enjoys it so much!!
hahahahhha...
I really have to give him thumb-ups!! ;)
From the moment he appeared, he had showed up his very best!

So, overall, this movie, each and every one is playing their very best! They really need skills to play their role :)


*SPOILERS*
This movie is about drugs. From how the poppy seeds (source), turn to opium, heroin, ectasy and etc...
They have a statistics showing how many percentage of the world population is on which type of drug and so...of course, they're not worrying about how bad if so many people is on drugs, but, they're worrying their business...if the percentage drops, it means their business drops as well. And, so, HK's the biggest drug banker is played by Andy Lau. And, his protege is played ny Daniel Wu, who is a mole from police force. He is helping the Narcotics Bureau to cope with this case, his responsibility is to get Qun (Andy) in jail. From the very beginning, Qun doesn't trust anyone fully, but, he happened to trust Nick so much. In the end, Nick turns him in for the bureau, and he got arrested. He knows he can't walk out from jail, and he doesn't want his wife and daughters get involved or been dragged into deep trouble, so, the only way is to die. He chooses to commit suicide in the toilet in police station. Before he dies, he got to know that Nick had betrayed him, as Nick told him. He's so pity, been betrayed by someone who he trusted so much and he treat him as brother. He is so hurt. Nick wants to report the suicidal incident and send him to hospital, but, he begs him for mercy. He needs to die, for his family's good.


Overall, I'll rate this movie excellent!!
But, too bad, it is too short!!
In one and half hour, the show is impossible to show everything in details.
No Way!!
And, I feel there are parts being cut out, as there are parts where I saw on pictures but not shown in movie =P (I'll buy DVD for this =) )
I thought I am not going to impress with this movie, as I had known everything...
But, no, in this movie, you're not going to focus on it's storyline, but, the skills of the artistes in it!! For sure!!
Again, I have to highly praise Andy for being good in this movie. I love to see him got temper :)
Even my friends said this is a good show!!

OK...well, why my eyes swelled??
I started to cry when Andy committed suicide...well...I mean, Brother Qun committed it. I know he is going to die off and he will be died of committing suicide, but, little I know that the scene appear to be the most touching part. =(
In the scene, Brother Qun, is so miserable, as since young, he already had diabetes, and his kidneys are not doing well too. He is a sick man. The very first scene he appears is already showing he is in hospital. =( What a pity man??!!
When he got arrested, he knows, if he got in, his family will get involved, and with his illness, he knows, when he is jail, his family, especially his wife will suffer the most. So, he knows there will be no way out, but to die. He cuts his neck, and the blood dripping away when he's begging mercy from Nick.

I'm crying again now... =(

The most touching part is not that he cuts his neck, but, the part where he is begging for mercies and the blood just drip...
You will have no way how pain it is until you watch!! Bet it!

OK...I'm used to Andy died in his movies, as he is so used to it...
But, this movie is different. It gives a very hard impact on me.
Maybe it is the way he choose to die....
I don't know..
I thought I'm numbed with it, and more over, I am already exposed to that he is going to commit suicide, but, how come still got a great impact like this??
Just now, every now and then, whenever I recall of that scene, I'll cry.
That scene keeps playing in my mind. It's killing me off...
See...now I'm crying again...
Just now, when I'm driving home, when I'm dinner with my friends, suddenly, I started to cry..
My friends were shocked...
Do you guys think I'll get better later??

Today, went out with Jessica (sabahan) and Dorothy (sarawakian), both of them enjoy Andy's movie so much too =)

Then, dinner with some old friends :) Luckily they know me well, but still they got so shock...
Sorry, friends...

After watching Protege, I watched "Ghost Riders" as well...
hmm...just one thing to say...Marvel's Heroes, never disappoint me so far!! =)
