I just got back from my Bangkok trip.
Overall, it's quite a nice trip. See a lot of things. But, I learn a lesson. If I were have a chance to stay/work in Thailand, I think, I won't go. If it's a business trip, it's OK, but, not long stay.
Everywhere is written in Thai, even the roads sign boards, I can't read them. The building all named in Thai, and everybody's is speaking Thai!! In the market, even buy a thing, I must talk Thai to them. They hardly could understand my English :(
So, no long stay in Thailand, I'll die there.
This time, I didn't have to stay in hotel, but, I'm staying in one of my uncle's house.
I went there together with my grandparents and my brother =) to celebrate my great grandfather's 97th birthday!!
Though he's old, he's still very healthy!!
He can still talk a lot and what makes me amaze is that he can still read and hear so well.
You know, you can speak to him just like you speak to any other normal people. You don't have to talk loudly, like when you speak to some old people their hearing is not so good. And, he can read newspaper without wearing specs!! Amazing, right!!
He can remember everything so very well, but, just not those recent things. Just like us, when we reach there on the first two days, he could hardly know who and who...but, when he just got to know who and who, we are saying "bye-bye" to him. Anyway, he's a lovely old man. This is the 2nd time I met him. The first time is 10years ago, when he's here in Penang.
First arriving at Bangkok's newly built airport - Suvarnabhumi Airport, which is the second largest airport in the world, if I'm not mistaken =P
>>Shopping Plaza

>> Inside the airport

>> the Control Tower

In the airport, they have all kinds of their legendary statues and myths' arts there. They have some giant chiefs which are believe to have guard the city and so. Then, there is a superb piece of art illustrating the scene of the churning of the milk ocean.
(sorry, I didn't use digital camera to take those statues)
Arriving at Bangkok, only I knew that their Majesty King had just celebrated his 60th accession to the throne at the age of 79. Everywhere could see "Long Live the King" motto.
Click HERE to access to the Thailand Authority Tourism Website. I got a booklet for this when I'm on the way to the so-called Chinatown in Bangkok.
When I'm there on the 2nd day, I went to one of the shopping complex - Sofitel Central Plaza - beside Horwang School, which is my cousin sister's ex-school.
A shopping complex, which is said always crowded with people...and that day, when I was there...it's quite crowded too. Maybe, people are busying buying New Year's items and so...
Then, on that night, I went to Caribean Village Floating Platform Restaurant. The food there are not bad. I love the atmosphere there...
I think it was a big pond. In the pond, they build platforms floating on the pond in order to put the tables. Then, in the middle, there is a stage where the singers perform. With all the lightings and decorations, the atmosphere there is really nice. There are a lot of people, especially foreigners!!
At the side, they have VIP rooms, which is build on earth, no more plattforms..hehe..
My great granddad celebrated his birthday there =)
The next day, we went for a short tour, towards eastern of Thailand - Pattaya.
I think, we haven't got into Pattaya yet, cuz' I still not exposed to the beautiful beach as I heard from one my cousins there. So, along the way, we went to some shrines/Buddha's temples.
We pray. I don't know what they called the temple in Thai, but, there are a lot of people there. They offers the Buddhas hard-boiled eggs. People brings basket by basket to offer to the Buddhas. There have some Thai dancing perfomance.

Then, beside the temple, there is another newly built temple. It is very nice temple. Inside, the whole building is decorated with beautifully drawn/designed arts and so. The Buddha statues are gold in colour.

Then, we go further to another exhibition temple, whereby the whole building is full of statues of all kinds. You can see all those arahats, Buddhas, GuanYin, Guan Di, Smiling Buddha, Dragon Kings, Great China Emperors from previous dynasties and so on.

Then, we went to Sriracha Tiger Zoo, where it's something like a zoo. We saw a tiger, a pig and a Shepherd Dog sleeping together in a cage. They are like best friends!!

And, this is my look after a few hours sitting in the van...my bumps were already so numb, and I feel so time wasting :/ Oh yahh...my facial were so bad when I'm in Bangkok, maybe it's due to that I am still new to the air in Bangkok. Luckily I had bought some masks..

Then, we saw pigs do some racing and calculations. Then, we go further for corcodiles and tigers performaces.

After seeing all those animals performances...somehow, I feel pity to these animals. With all the entertaining performances to show us, I think, they must have gone through a very tough trainings.
Then, we rushed to Noong Nooch Garden. It's a very big garden with a lot of beautiful orchids and plants there. So colourful can!!
There has a cultural show and an elephants show. The elephants are so cute!! They all can dance. There is one that is so active and can dance so well. It can shake its head and legs so well and according to the rythm. =) The cultural shows were showing those Thai Boxing and, then some Thai dancing. Some of the dancers are "pondan" (hermaphrodites) Some of them are so beautiful, that if they do not talk, you are really thinking he is a she!!
The very next day, we went to take some public transport of Thailand - taxi, MRT and then, bus.
The one I love the most is MRT!!
As, I don't have to be the victim of the traffic jams!!
Tell you guys what...
The traffic jam that I encountered in Bangkok is very horrible. As the route from one place to another is quite a distance away, therefore, if there is traffic jam, then, it is really a terrible one. We travelled on the van for at least 30minutes if we want to travel from one place to another, that is if the traffic is smooth. If it is jammed, we can stucked at least 2 hours in the van.
Once I got back to Penang, I love Penang!! haha...cuz' it's only a small island, I don't have to suffer the jam. If I got jammed, it won't take me that long...
Luckily, I am not the driver in Bangkok, otherwise, I don't think I could survive be the driver there. The drivers there are even worser than those Penang that I had ever met before. I think, I should be glad with my own country. Maybe, I am not too used to it and everything is in Thai language. Maybe, it is this atmosphere makes me feel that I couldn't survive in Thailand, cuz' I couldn't understand a single word of Thai.
Even when I went to look for CDs in the shops, those CDs that I found were all translated in Thai version!!
O-M-G can!! Even those I found that is chinese movies or english movies, they are all in Thai version!!
So, in the end, I can't find anything about Andy, or if I found, I won't buy it either, cuz' it'll be in Thai.
So, now, I started to wonder where those Andy's fans look for his CDs. Cuz' after all the shops I went...I could hardly see any CDs of him. VCDs - yes, but very few.
But, I thought there have a lot of his fans in Thailand, especially in Bangkok. Maybe, they know where to search for his things, but, not me...
So, I started to feel I'm really lucky that I'm staying in M'sia, whereby I culd access to almost everything, maybe it's a bit slower...but, better than nothing! But, I'm still thinking I want to move out from M'sia...haha...
OK...finish with my trip's story...
Tomorrow my school wil re-open!!
Finally, I had survived til the last semester of my schooling.
Previous semester, my results weren't too good, but, I know where I went wrong. I know myself can't do good in Analysis, but, I think, I can do better in Algebra. So, I think, I'll be registering Algebra's papers and some other papers for my makor. Then, I could see if the Language Centre allow me to change the Japanese to some English paper.
I think, I didn't do well for my 3rd level. So, I am 100% sure I am not taking 4th Level.
I think, my pointer won't allow me to take anymore risk at my final semester. I really need to make myself end up in studying Master in UK!!
Oh yahh...when I went to Feringghi trip during the beginning of school holidays...I got a pix here: =P

And, I had taken a pix at the board, for a remembrance..hehe...

I am in car waiting for traffic light to turn green. And, I got time to take this!!
Now, the board had changed to Tony LCW's new movies - Confession of Pain, which will be screened on 26th of December, 2006.

And a X'mas card!!
It's a kinda surprise when I get back from trip and I see so many things awaiting my postbox =)
The X'mas Card - It's an illustration of Andy's drawing a smiling boy wearing a Santa's hat =D which is now placing together with Andy's calendar.
haha...that another ugly Andy face is a cassette's cover. It's a double cassette of a compilation of his old songs.
My desk is quite messy, huh??!!

And, lastly, how're you, Vonn??
Have you come back from Aust's trip?? Happy?? Ready to go there in coming Feb??
